RESTORATION SERVICES
We are one of the few area companies that specalize in the use of diamond abrasives in the restoration of your stone surfaces. The use of diamonds in the grinding and honing phase of restoration will give you better clarity and more reflectivity after polishing. This method completely removes all damage and perfections. There are three stages of restoration that range from aggressive to minor.
Grinding is the most aggressive with large amounts of the stone surface removed. Grinding will remove deep scratches and lippage (uneven tile edges) which will allow the stone to be polished from a flat satin to a high gloss.
Honing is used to remove minor scratches and wear from everyday foot traffic.
Polishing enables marble or stone to have the sheen you want, enhance the veining in marble and protects the marble or stone from everyday traffic and spills.
MAINTENANCE SERVICES
Every natural stone surface has everyday wear and tear in every residential or commercial setting!
Cleaning removes the dirt, stains and bacteria as well as waxes and polymers that have become embedded in the stone.
Sealing is necessary in protecting and preserving your natural stone. Your natural stone should be protected immediately following either a maintenance or restoration method. A Flourocarbon Based Sealer is used/applied to repel both water and oil bourne spills. (Using penetrating sealers / impregnators.)
Color Enhancing will bring the color of your stone back to life, and make it look like new. This service is provided by the use of penetrating sealers / impregnators formulated to enhance or enrich the color of your stone.
Stripping is a process that removes coatings that block stone's ability to breathe which causes spalling (when the stones crack, pop and shale). Some examples of common coatings are crystallization, janitorial waxes, and polyurethane.
Restoring cement based terrazzo floors is essentially the exact same process as marble. Terrazzo is made up of Portland cement and marble aggregate. At its surface, the ratio of marble to cement is about 70/30. Therefore, the terrazzo has the ability to capture the many adorned characteristics of marble such as shine and reflectivity.
